TOURNAMENT TEAMS
Each summer, Little Leagues worldwide form Tournament Teams comprised of standout players from their league's Spring season. These teams compete in their local District Little League Tournament, with opportunities to advance and face other Tournament Teams from across the nation.
The tournament season kicks off in early June and includes six levels of tournament play in Little League Baseball and five in Little League Softball. Banneker City Little League proudly fields five teams across the 11 possible divisions of Little League tournament play:

The Little League Tournament Season is Little League International's most competitive program, and thus requires a higher level of commitment and dedication compared to the Spring or Fall seasons.
What is the time commitment required for tournament team players?
Tournament team players commit to an intensive schedule of daily practices and training, resulting in a significant advancement in their skill levels within just a few weeks. Players implement the invaluable habit of putting in consistent effort to prepare for opportunities—an essential life skill they can rely on whenever dedication and hard work are needed in the future.
Who is eligible to tryout for the tournament teams?
Players who took part in Banneker City Little League's Spring season and participated in at least 60% of their team's scheduled games are eligible.
What is the process for selecting tournament teams?
Players must participate in Tryouts, complete the Tournament Paperwork and be available for the Tournament season. Players from this pool are added to the Tournament Team ballot, where they are subsequently voted on by five distinct groups. These five groups represent five separate ballots, each contributing to the final decision on the Tournament Team roster, which is determined by majority vote.
