The Banneker Upper Field Project is a long overdue renovation of our flagship field—Banneker Upper Field. With your support, we have an incredible opportunity to transform Banneker Upper Field into the premier baseball/softball park in Washington, DC.
In the summer of 2022, Banneker City Little League was honored to receive both the ASAP Regional and National, Safety Plan of the Year Awards from Little League International (READ MORE HERE). As part of the National Award, Banneker City was granted $150,000 worth of field lighting equipment from Musco Lighting designated for Banneker Upper Field—a game changing milestone for our league!
While the gift of field lights is a tremendous blessing, the full cost of their installation and planning rests solely on Banneker City Little League. During the planning phase of their installation, it was discovered that it would be practical and more cost-effective to include similar electrical work—such as power for a digital scoreboard, concession stand, and bathrooms—while the ground was already open for the lighting installation.
With this insight, the project scope was broadened to encompass a digital scoreboard, concession stand, press box, restrooms, dugout & fencing upgrades, stadium seating, and landscaping enhancements, completing the park's beautification efforts.
Our goal is to raise $400,000 over the next three years to complete the Banneker Upper Field Project and create a lasting legacy. With your support, we can turn this vision into reality.
